Links Valentine Create and Bake Off Success

Shelton LINKS Senior Support worker came up with a competition for his service users and staff just to add a little spice to Valentine’s day.

The competition was to create and bake off where Service users were asked to design and create a valentines card and the staff were to bake a valentine’s cake.

There would be 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes for the cards made and the winners would get the winning 3 cakes. Plus each service user would receive a certificate of participation and the winners a certificate for their place in the competition.

Sadly there were only 5 cakes submitted by staff But Service User Stephen Pearce decided to make a cake to include into the competition.

Katie Walklet (Client Services co-ordinator) kindly came over to our unit to judge both cakes and cards; she found this a very difficult task to do as they were all very good. But winners had to be found and as a result for the valentines cards winners were (Bearing in mind that Katie had no idea who made or baked what):

  • 1st place Waquar Hussain;
  • Mohammed Babar came in 2nd with his creation, and;
  • Ben Lockley received 3rd place…

Well done to you all!

The cakes were also judged by Katie (again not knowing who had made what) and;

  • 1st place was won by Senior support worker Craig Lymer;
  • 2nd place was won by Support worker Emma Timmis, and;
  • 3rd place was won by Service user Stephen Pearce for his late but wonderful entry

I would like to say well done to everyone for taking part as everyone that took part put a lot of effort into their creations.
