Gift Vouchers as a mark of appreciation

After a hectic few days over the Christmas period where staff Members from Shelton LINKS (which is a day service provider for the Shelton Care group) went above and beyond what was expected of them for the fantastic work that they carried out.

LINKS staff support adults with learning difficulties and disabilities from around the local area, one of the services that LINKS provide is supporting service users at 2 elderly care residential homes which are based close by. This is an amazing way to break down the barriers between the elderly and adults with learning difficulties.

As a part of this service Our staff and service users provided Christmas dinners for residents and their families at one of the residential homes Union Court, There was a total of 25 people for them to cater for which included everything from compiling a menu, completing the shopping list, doing the shopping, preparing and cooking the food, serving the food and clearing up afterwards.

As a result of their fantastic work we have received a lovely letter from the warden thanking our staff Frankie Cotterill (responsible support worker) and Andrea Rogers (support worker).

The letter highlights the work that they carried out;

they were able to provide a high class meal for so many residents…

and also added;

they have set the bar very high…

The lovely letter ended with;

please can i ask you on behalf of myself and all of the residents at Union Court to pass on our thanks and appreciation to the staff and service users for all their preparation, hard work and for “going the extra mile” in providing such a memorable meal for us, we feel very strongly that they should be recognised by the company for this.

As a result of Frankie’s and Andrea’s work they were both issued with Positive work practices for their efforts as well as 2 other staff went above and beyond which were Cherise Gwilt (support worker) and Ellie Hitchins (support worker).

In addition to the work practices Both Frankie and Andrea have both been presented with INTU gift vouchers for them to treat themselves for all of their hard work.

I would like to thank everyone involved; it makes us so proud to receive such positive feedback from other services outside of Shelton Care.
